The KM Style Method

Don't just learn the 12 seasons. Learn how to think like a professional colour analyst.

This training teaches you how to observe, analyse, identify, personalise and apply colour · so you can confidently analyse a person rather than simply match them to a season.

A professional analyst needs to understand why a colour works, what to look for, and how to test an initial hypothesis through systematic comparison and draping.

The KM Style Method gives you a thoughtful, structured process you can repeat.

01

OBSERVE

Skin → Hair → Eyes → Iris → Overall contrast

02

ANALYSE

Temperature → Depth → Intensity → Contrast → Iris characteristics

03

IDENTIFY

Form a hypothesis, then test it through systematic comparison and draping

04

PERSONALISE

Create the client's individual colour direction

05

APPLY

Clothing → Makeup → Hair → Accessories → Real life

Observation is not diagnosis.

Within IDENTIFY, your initial season and sister-palette hypothesis is tested through systematic colour comparison and draping before a result is confirmed.

Built on experience

Train your eye. Understand your reasoning.

01

LEARN A PROFESSIONAL METHOD

Follow a clear methodology that trains you to observe, analyse and explain your reasoning · not simply identify colour categories.

02

UNDERSTAND THE THEORY

Understand temperature, depth, intensity and contrast so you can compare colour characteristics instead of memorising seasons.

03

READ NATURAL COLOURING & THE IRIS

Learn detailed iris analysis and use observations from skin, hair, eyes, iris and contrast to guide your palette investigation.

04

TEST THROUGH DRAPING

Use systematic colour comparison and draping to confirm or challenge your initial hypothesis and compare sister palettes.

05

PERSONALISE THE RESULT

Build an individual palette and apply it thoughtfully to clothing, makeup, hair, accessories and real life.

06

PRACTISE & EXPLAIN

Work through guided colour exercises and learn how to communicate your observations and professional reasoning clearly.

Detailed iris analysis beside a coordinated colour paletteProfessional colour analysis using comparison drapes

A core professional skill

Learn to read the iris as part of your colour analysis process.

The iris can reveal valuable clues about temperature, depth, intensity, contrast and the colours naturally present in a person's eyes. You'll learn how to observe these details and use them to guide your palette investigation · then test your hypothesis through systematic colour comparison and draping.

Iris analysis is a guide, not a diagnosis.

Iris base colour
Secondary colours within the iris
Warm vs cool characteristics
Light vs deep qualities
Soft vs clear / bright qualities
Iris contrast
Outer iris ring
Radial patterns and colour variation
Brightness and softness
Relationship to the person's overall colouring

Rather than relying on shortcuts such as “blue eyes = Winter”, you'll learn to identify the specific colour characteristics within the iris and understand how they relate to the person's overall colouring.

Delivered in a small group format to allow for interaction, questions and personalised guidance throughout the programme. You learn live with Karina, ask questions as you go and practise with guided colour exercises between sessions.

6 weeks · Live online · Every Thursday at 7:00pm

Your live classes will take place every Thursday at 7:00pm, starting 15 October 2026. Up to 3 hours per session. The training is delivered live online, and you will receive a private link before each session.

  • 22 October 2026
  • 29 October 2026
  • 5 November 2026
  • 12 November 2026
  • 19 November 2026

Every live class is recorded

Can't make a live session? No problem.

Every class will be recorded and available to rewatch, so you can catch up or revisit the training whenever you need.

The live experience is the main format · recordings give you flexibility, not a self-paced course.

Professional principles

Thoughtful analysis, without shortcuts.

Professional judgement comes from bringing multiple observations together, testing them carefully and staying open to what the drapes reveal.

Observation is not diagnosis.
A clue is not a conclusion.
Iris analysis is a clue, not the diagnosis.
Client preference is information, not evidence.
Your hypothesis is tested through colour comparison and draping.
Best does not mean only.

Active learning

Learn the theory. Train your eye. Prepare for practice.

Level 1 is designed to help you develop the knowledge and professional reasoning you need before working with physical drapes.

Throughout the six weeks, you'll work through guided colour exercises designed to help you practise observation and analysis.

You'll learn to move away from shortcuts such as

“What rule tells me this person's season?”

And instead ask

  • What am I actually observing?
  • What do I need to test?
  • Why?

This is the mindset of a professional colour analyst.

You won't be expected to memorise everything immediately. The training is structured week by week, allowing you to build your knowledge gradually and revisit key concepts as you progress.

Your practice may include

Colour observation exercises
12-season identification and comparison
Iris analysis exercises
Guided observation exercises
Sister-palette comparisons
Myth and misconception challenges
Hypothesis-building exercises
Colour direction exercises
Makeup and hair colour application
Preparing for your Level 2 practical draping day

The exact exercises may vary depending on the group and the learning needs of the students.

The purpose is not to see how quickly you can name a season.

It is to develop your ability to observe, analyse, question, test and explain your reasoning.

Important

Level 1 is online theory. Level 2 is hands-on practice. Physical draping with professional colour fabrics and real models is not part of the six-week online Level 1 training. Level 1 gives you the foundation first. Level 2 then allows you to put that knowledge into practice in a supervised, hands-on environment.

Professional colour analysis materials

What the fee covers · and what you'll gather separately

The training fee covers the teaching, live sessions, recordings, structured theory training and ongoing student support.

Colour-analysis materials are purchased separately. When you move into practical training, you will need your own professional materials, including colour drapes/fabrics, palettes and other recommended colour-analysis tools.

A recommended materials list and guidance on what to purchase will be provided as you progress to the practical stage, so you can build your professional kit with confidence and know exactly what you need. You won't need to buy everything at once, and the guidance will help you build your kit step by step.

Fashion professionals

People adding Colour Analysis as a professional service

Founding group

A deliberately small group

A small group learning experience with direct access to Karina throughout the training.

Founding group price available until training starts on 15 October 2026 · or until the group fills, whichever comes first.

This is not designed to be a large online course where you simply watch lessons and move on. You'll learn live with Karina, ask questions, take part in guided exercises and have the class recordings and structured theory training to support your learning between sessions.

I'm keeping the founding group small on purpose so I can give proper attention to each student, answer questions, discuss your observations and help you develop your professional reasoning.

You'll be learning directly with me throughout the six weeks.

The professional pathway

Learn the theory. Practise and apply it. Master the method.

Your KM Style training path

01

Level 1, Learn

Build your professional foundation through colour theory, the 12 season system, colour characteristics, observation, analysis principles and guided exercises.

02

Level 2, Practise

Take your knowledge into hands on practice. Learn professional draping, work with real people and develop your practical colour analysis skills.

03

Level 3, Master

Advanced training to continue developing your professional expertise.

Level 2 is delivered as two sequential parts: Part 1, Draping Day (€297) comes first, followed by Part 2, Makeup & Real World Colour (€197). Usually €494 combined, special bundle price €449 when you book both sessions together (save €45).

Level 1 · The foundation

Level 1 is a theory and professional methodology training.

Level 1 is a six-week online theory and professional methodology training. You will learn how to observe colour, understand the 12 seasons, analyse natural colouring, read the iris, develop a colour hypothesis and understand how professional colour analysis is structured.

There is no physical draping during Level 1. And that's intentional.

Before you can confidently drape a client, you need to understand what you are looking for, what you are testing and why.

Colour analysis is more than knowing the colour wheel or deciding whether someone is warm or cool. Those are important foundations, but professional colour analysis requires you to bring several observations together and understand how colour characteristics interact.

There is a learning curve · and that's completely normal. Level 1 gives you the knowledge and framework you need to build that professional eye. With practice, the process becomes more intuitive and you become more confident in your analysis.

Level 1 gives you the foundation. Level 2 puts it into practice.

Level 2, Part 1 · Practise the method

Level 2, Part 1 · Draping Day

You've learned the theory. Now it's time to work with real colour.

Level 2 is where you take everything you've learned in Level 1 and start applying it in practice. It is a separate, supervised practical day for students who have completed Level 1, and hands on draping, practical colour analysis and real world application are introduced at this stage.

You'll work with real models and professional colour drapes while Karina guides you through the complete testing process.

This is where the theory becomes practical.

Level 2, Part 1

€297

Approx. 4-hour supervised practical experience

Level 2 is optional and priced separately from Level 1.

During the practical day, you'll practise:

Setting up a professional draping session
Observing the client before draping
Testing temperature
Testing depth
Testing intensity
Assessing contrast
Comparing palettes
Identifying sister palettes
Understanding what the drapes are revealing
Confirming or challenging your hypothesis
Building the client's colour direction
Presenting the final result professionally
Can I review the practical day afterwards?

We are currently checking the possibility of recording the practical session so that students can revisit the process afterwards. Further details will be confirmed before the practical day.

The practical day is designed to complement · not replace · the six-week Level 1 foundation.

Level 2, Part 2 · After Part 1

Level 2, Part 2 · Makeup & Real World Colour

Take your colour knowledge out of the studio and into the real world.

A half-day practical experience focused mainly on makeup · testing undertone and palette colours through makeup application · plus recognising clothing colour in real store lighting. This is not a personal shopping or styling course.

Optional and priced separately from Level 1. Part 1 (Draping Day) comes first in the sequence.
